LOCAL SALON, GAVIN TAYLOR HAIR TAKES ONE STEP CLOSER TO WINNING NATIONAL AWARD
Local hair salon ‘Gavin Taylor Hair’ of Rothley which has only been open for 4 months has won a place at the Eastern Regional Finals of the hairdressing industry’s most fashion-led live hairdressing competition the L’Oréal Colour Trophy 2015. Which will take place on Sunday 19th April at Duxford, Imperial War Museum, Cambridge.
In the first round, hundreds of photographic images from across the country were judged by the hairdressing industries most influential names in hairdressing including last year’s winner and X-Factor hairdresser - Jamie Stevens, The 2012 title holders Sally & Jamie Brooks, leading session stylist & press favourite Adam Reed and hairdressing icon Charles Worthington MBE. Gavin Taylor Hair fought of stiff competition and were successfully chosen to take part in the high energy Regional Finals being held throughout April 2015.
The next stage of the competition will put Gavin Taylor Hair through their paces as they will now create a live model look that demonstrates an awareness for Autumn/Winter 2015/16 hair and fashion trends as outlined in the brief, the model look must be original, modern and inspirational. The team of judges are looking for a trend-setting, show stopping total look that can inspire clients and hairdressers.
Gavin Taylor and Marie Atterbury are part of a very excited salon team who are all overjoyed with having broken through to the next level of the competition. The team will now join just 60 salons from across the eastern region in a bid to make it through to the Grand final to compete for the coveted L’Oréal Colour Trophy 2015.

The fashion fuelled, high energy event will be one of eight highly anticipated regional finals happening up and down the country. Each salon team will only have 30 tense minutes to bring their model look to life and demonstrate that they are the region’s most talented and creative hairdressers to a panel of judges consisting of acclaimed hairdressers.
